May Training Focus, KB Class, Schedule

Coach Jess teaching the Turkish Get upOur training focus for May will be SKILL & MOVEMENT!

What does that mean? We are going to pull back a little on lifting heavier loads and really hone in on our skill.  Why? Because strength is a skill.  Learning how to move your body well and through full range of motion takes some practice.  We all have little weak links in our chain and there is no benefit to grinding through heavy weights with poor form & position...that only leads to injury down the road.

This month our strength based classes will be Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  We will perform the same routine for that day of the week all five weeks of May (there will be a different structure each of those days but week to week it won't change).  Each week we will asses during your training session if increasing load is beneficial.  We will also have tracking sheets for you to use to help you see where you are at, when you increase load or reps and learn more about your body.  This consistency will really allow us to master and improve movement, skill and strength.

***PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THURSDAY EVENING CLASS FOLLOWED BY FRIDAY MORNING CLASS! THESE WORKOUTS WILL BE THE SAME AND YOUR BODY HAS NOT HAD ENOUGH TIME TO REST!

Introducing Knockout Kettlebells!

This class will be offered on Mondays (6a, 9a and 6:30pm).  The format will be both strength and conditioning in nature.  We will start be focusing on learning the swing and include other movements to give you a balanced full body training session.  The end of class we will do a finisher.

Summer Schedule

Our Summer schedule is in effective May 1! We realize as it gets warmer outside many take some training days outdoors, so we lighten the schedule a bit in the summer.  But don't fear I have some ideas for helping you train on days you aren't in KO...some including training with me outside!

Monday/Wednesday/Friday 6am and 9am
Tuesday & Thursday 5:30pm
Monday through Thursday 6:30pm
Saturday 8:30am & 9:30am

Knockout 101 will be on Mondays at 5:30pm.  This is geared towards new students, but everyone is welcome.  We will work on for 5 essential movements (squat, hinge, push, pull) and end with a finisher! (new students do get priority in this class and the limit is 8 students)
