Last night was a big night for me and Knockout Women's Boxing Club! We were featured on the show 190 North (WLS 7). It was truly an amazing opportunity that I am beyond grateful for.
I was not nervous for the filming of the feature, but damn was I super nervous to watch it! "How would the gym look from the outside looking in?" "How would I sound on camera?" "Would they capture what Knockout is all abou?" It was exciting and nerve wracking at the same time!
I am ecstatic to report the piece came out PERFECT! The producers really did portray what our club and mission are all about! They showcased the diversity, passion and enthuasim of our members! Simply put...IT ROCKED!
This is another dream come true! My goal is to change the world and having the opportunity to be on a legit TV show is a huge step towards making that happen. We were able show a much bigger audience what Knockout is all about...changing inside & out! Each day we take a step forward in making an impression on women and helping to empower them to be their best!
I've learned through the years being an entrenpeur many lessons (some the hard way and thankfully some came more easily) on success. As I ride the high from last night's milestone, I wanted to share some words of wisdom on making your dreams a reality:
1. You get what you are ready for NOT what you want
2. Stay true to yourself and your vision
3. You WILL make mistakes it's part of the process
4. You MUST be willing to take risks
5. Your comfort zone is NOT where change happens...so get uncomfortable
6. Surround yourself with people who TRULY support & believe in you
7. Being willing to ask for help
8. Passion will keep you going when things get tough (so make sure you are passionat about what you are pursuing)
9. Get rid of negative, toxic people & siutations
10. Be patient with yourself
11. Trust yourself & listen to your gut
12. Look at the big picture (try not to freak out about little things)
13. Everything you do matters, success is in the details
14. Consistency is key
15. Take breaks & give yourself credit
I am sure I could go on and on, but I'd say if you can embrace those things you will be successful. Oh and it won't be easy, but it will be worth it! Life is great!
Believe me I still have a long way to go, but I am so proud of myself for how far I've come (in all areas of my life). I believe the sky is the limit and Knockout Women's Boxing Club is truly starting to launch! I had a dream and it's coming true! I've made good choices and mistakes along the way, but I wouldn't change a thing because it's all lead me to the amazing place I find myself in right now!
I don't write posts like this to brag, my goal is to inspire you to follow your dreams. My life isn't perfect (and I wouldn't want it that way...perfection is boring), but it's going better than planned and I want the same for you! I knew in my heart my mission to empower women would reach far, but like anyone diving into the unknown there was doubt & fear lingering. As my business and I grow, I feel those doubts and fears subsiding and my confidence, power, and determination growing. So whatever your dream is, go after it! Life is too short to live with regrets!
“Sing like no one is listening,
LOVE LIKE YOU'VE NEVER BEEN HURT,
dance like nobody's watching,
and live like it's heaven on earth.”
About 7 months ago, I made some decisions that have set amazing things into motion. I believe once you clear away the "junk" in your world there is room for greatness to come in. Ever since I consciously decided to let go of what wasn't working for me, the universe responded with a domino effect of blessings. I have never felt happier and more grateful in my life (I even finally figured out this whole relationship thing and I have an amazing boyfriend). The end of 2013 and the choices I made have catapulted me and my club into 2014! Thank you to ALL my Knockouts (past, present & future), my family, friends and supporters! I wouldn't be where I am today without you (oh and my haters too...thank you for the lessons)! I know you can't be successful alone...it takes a team! And I am proud of my Knockout Team! xoxo
So moral of the story...follow your dreams and be the real you! I can tell you without a doubt when you are being the genuine, authentic version of you great things will happen (they might not happen at the speed or timing you want and they might not be wrapped in a pretty package, but great things will come to you)! When in doubt remember the 15 things I listed above and...BE YOU!
